Tales from the Road: ACC 2015

Our participation in the American College of Cardiology 64th annual Scientific Sessions last month in San Diego appears to have been very successful. The traffic to our booth was extremely high and a large number of visitors, from the United States and overseas, expressed interest in our products. Attendees were curious in our core technology EECP® (Enhanced External Counterpulsation) therapy and our growing patient monitoring product line.

Additionally, Dr. Joseph Tartaglia on behalf of his co-authors from the New York Medical College in Valhalia, New York presented a poster abstract on EECP® Therapy and the positive effect it has on decreasing the risk of Major Adverse Cardiac Events (referred to as MACE) for patients. The poster was titled “Patients That Respond to Enhanced External Counterpulsation Are at Decreased Risk for Major Adverse Cardiac Events and Have Increases in Endothelial Precursor Stem Cells”. The study, which followed up on the participating patients for 96 months, demonstrated that these patients had an increase in exercise capacity post treatment and had fewer major adverse cardiac events after treatment. It showed that patients with increased exercise capacity also had an increase in peripheral endothelial precursor CD133+ cells. This suggests, according to the authors, that the new collateral vessel development resulting from the EECP® treatment is responsible for the improved outcomes.

Our next exhibition will be at the Hospitalar meeting in Sao Paulo, Brazil in May. We look forward to showcase our EECP Therapy and our patient monitoring product line to the growing medical industry in Latin America.

Tales from the Road – Arab Health

We’ve just departed from Dubai having completed a very successful Arab Health exposition. The Vasomedical booth included displays, graphics and demonstrations from all segments of our company profile, including EECP® and ECP therapy systems, Biox’ new ECG Holter and ambulatory blood pressure monitors and our wireless MobiCare™ patient monitoring products. Our booth location was ideal, we were in one of the convention center’s main concourses and was extremely busy throughout the whole show. We were joined in the booth by our associates from Biox and VSK, Vasomedical’s newest joint venture for marketing and sales of EECP/ECP technology globally. Together we welcomed many visitors from all over the Middle East, as well as visitors from North America, Europe and India.

This show allowed us to increase our exposure in the Middle East. There are treatment centers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Jordan, the Sudan, Bahrain, Oman and Israel. Many physicians in the region are familiar with the clinical benefits of the therapy and are very interested in bringing the technology to their local hospitals and clinics.

Biox – MobiCare™ wireless patient monitoring products attracted a high level of interest at the show. The flexibility to un-tether the patient from the monitor using Bluetooth technology is very unique. Along with the added feature of remote viewing capabilities away from the clinical setting by physicians, healthcare workers and patient families, it was evident that MobiCare™ was one of the most interesting new products seen by many of the attendees.

Tales From the Road: Medical Fair Asia 2014

As Medical Fair Asia comes to a close in Singapore on Sept 11th, 2014, many of us are reflecting on this day. 13 years ago millions of people went to sleep not knowing the world was about to change forever. We continue to think about the people we lost that day and will keep them and their families in our thoughts, our hearts and our prayers.

Medical Fair Asia has been another successful meeting. There were constant visitors to our booth, they came from all over Southeast Asia to participate in this show, which is one of the largest medical industry conferences in the Asian market.  Hospital and healthcare administrators, physicians and many distributors came to our booth wanting to see our products; they were especially interested in MobiCare®, a unique wireless patient monitoring system with flexible communications capabilities.

MobiCare frees the patients from typical bedside monitoring and allows them the freedom to move about the room and nearby areas with comfort and safety. In addition, the ability to perform remote viewing functions by authorized personnel expanded the potential capabilities to meet multiple needs of a quickly growing and more challenging healthcare marketplace. The need for safe and reliable monitoring for patients is no longer limited to bedside monitoring in the hospital, nor does it stop when the patient is discharged. There is a rapidly growing need to provide better medical services in some of the most unique situations and MobiCare’s communication flexibility meets that monitoring challenge head on.

Though there have been a few scattered EECP Therapy systems throughout the region, EECP Therapy is not generally well known in Southeast Asia. Some of our distributors visited us to discuss opportunities and projects they are currently working on and plans to expand awareness in their designated territories. While most healthcare professionals in the region are not aware of the therapy, our participation in international shows expands awareness of the therapy and is creating a bigger audience for its acceptance. Many new distributors visited our booth and expressed interest in becoming our authorized representative in their respective countries for EECP Therapy, as well as our Biox ECG Holter and ambulatory monitoring products.

We also had an opportunity to learn more about the regulatory and typical marketing practices in many of the countries represented here. Having a better understanding and establishing connections in this region will help us ensure we approach the markets in the best way possible to create opportunities to generate revenue, while controlling and monitoring expenses.

Make sure to stay tuned for more tales from the road as we continue to showcase and educate the healthcare industry about EECP Therapy technology and our other offerings.

Tales from the Road – American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions in Washington, DC

We just returned from the nation’s capital after three days of participation at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) 63rd Scientific Sessions. Based upon our numerous meetings and conversations with physicians and industry attendees, we thought this was a very successful event.

Our booth received a steady stream of visitors who expressed interest in Vasomedical’s current products and services. We also had the opportunity to speak to attendees about the direction our company is going to meet the future needs of healthcare markets globally.

Our live demonstrations of EECP Therapy attracted physicians who were on their way to poster presentations and program sessions, and even drew the attention of some on their way out of the convention center en route to enjoy visiting the many sights D.C. has to offer. In addition to EECP Therapy, there was significant interest in both our BIOX ambulatory ECG and blood pressure monitoring products and the new wireless vital signs monitoring products MobiCare™.

The EECP abstract presented on Saturday morning received good reviews from physicians who attended the presentation, many of which visited our booth afterward to learn more about our innovative therapy and the company. We made many new clinical as well as business development contacts at the show and we will be busy in the coming weeks following up with these folks.

Did you attend the ACC Scientific Sessions?  If so, what was the most interesting thing you saw, experienced or heard at the show? Email us at vaso@kcsa.com to let us know.

Tales from the Road: Thoughts After a Successful Show at the 2014 Arab Health Exhibition & Congress

We consider our exhibition at Arab Health last week to be one of our most successful tradeshows to date. This was largely accredited to our new Vasomedical exhibition booth and our strategic location at the show. The live demonstrations of EECP® Therapy generated large audiences and the booth’s visibility and new look were better at displaying our EECP Therapy and Biox patient monitoring products.

Attendees going to and from different exhibition halls, meetings and presentations stopped in our booth as they walked through the main concourse.  They wanted to know more about EECP® Therapy, the Biox ECG Holter and ambulatory blood pressure monitors, and our new wireless MobiCare® patient monitors. From the moment the exhibition halls opened to after the exhibit halls closed, our booth continued to stay busy.

At the show we spoke with an extensive number of physicians, distributors, hospital, and health ministry personnel from all of the countries in the Middle East and many different countries in Africa, as well as representatives from India during the four days of the exhibition.

Arab Health was a very successful meeting where we generated many leads, captivated lots of interest, and educated global medical industry leaders unfamiliar with EECP Therapy.  All the people we met in Dubai were warm and friendly and one gets the sense of being in a melting pot that is open to innovative medical technologies like EECP Therapy.

We look forward to working with many of the people we met at the show to bring our products to more patients in the Middle East region, Africa and Southeast Asia.

Tales from the Road: Medica, Dusseldorf

After years of being told by the organizers of Medica Dusseldorf that there was no new booth space available for Vasomedical, last week we were finally able to participate as exhibitors in the largest medical industry fair in the world: Medica.

At the conference in Dusseldorf, Germany, we exhibited our EECP Therapy and Biox ECG Holter and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring products. In addition, this has been an excellent platform for the introduction of MobiCare™, our new innovative wireless patient monitors. We exhibited along with more than 4,500 medical industry companies, and showcased our products to more than100,000 visitors. Judging by the busy traffic in our booth, I am sure this year’s show broke all attendance records.

The response from attendees at Medica to our current products was excellent. We received visits from customers who use our products and distributors who sell our products. We’ve also received visits from customers and distributors who are currently, or have previously, used our competitor’s products – they heard about our products and wanted to see them first hand. Amongst all the visitors to our booth we saw both higher name recognition for Vasomedical EECP and Biox products, as well as an increased number of visitors who have put Vasomedical EECP and Biox products on their schedules for visits to our booth.
