The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process. This HR Coordinator position is exposed to human resources procedures and assists with tasks throughout the HR department. In addition to recruiting and onboarding new employees, the HR Coordinator assists with guiding employees through various human resource processes, answering any questions they may have about policies.

This role will support the Human Resources Director with identifying, recruiting, and screening potential employees for specific positions in the organization.  The Human Resources Coordinator will partner with the hiring managers to ensure top candidates are identified and hired within the expected timeframes.

This position is a hybrid role both onsite and offsite with 3 of the 5 days working out of the Plainview, NY corporate office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Screen candidates, select qualified and interested candidates for the interviewing phase, and connect viable candidates with clients or hiring managers
  • Create, update role descriptions and job postings
  • Assemble candidate summaries and resumes
  • Check candidates’ references and credentials, verifying experience and backgrounds.
  • Schedule and secure locations for in-person interviews
  • Arrange meeting locations, travel, and/or accommodations for applicants
  • Create interview packets for in-person interviews
  • Initiate the background check and I9 process and assist with New Hire Onboarding sessions
  • Assist with the Mentoring Program Administration and other talent-related programs
  • Compile data for the HR scorecard and other company meetings such as business reviews, All Hands Calls and board meetings
  • Update and maintain employee records
  • Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refer more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management

 Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Must have a solid command of Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills with aptitude in conducting interviews
  • Understanding of EEO, ADA, and other related employment laws and guidelines

 Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field required
  • At least two years of human resources or related experience required
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred
